Sportsday reacts to ‘one of the most bizarre’ selection statements

The boys on Sportsday started Thursday night’s program discussing how selection reasons, injuries and excuses had become increasingly odd in the AFL.

And then sure enough, minutes later, this week’s teams delivered.

Western Bulldogs captain Bob Murphy was left out of his club’s 22 this weekend.

Injured? Nope. Managed? Try again. Omitted. No way.

He’s been listed as the “travelling emergency.”

“It’s one of the most bizarre selection statements ever,” Dwayne Russell said on 3AW.
