Spring snow: Victoria is freezing and turning white
Victorians are shivering through the state’s freezing start to Spring.
The alpine region is enjoying the late cold snap, with Mount Buller receiving more than 20cm of snow over the past 48 hours.
The Dandenong Ranges are expected to see a dusting this afternoon.
And it’s already snowing at Mount Macedon and the Otways.
Gwyneth, who works at Beech Forest in the Otways, told Neil Mitchell it’s been a picturesque morning (pictured above).
“We woke up to a white morning, our first this year,” she said.
“It’s absolutely beautiful.”
That comes after snow fell in Ballarat yesterday.
There’s a severe weather warning in place for most of the state, with strong winds ad thunderstorms expected. Gusts of 106km/h have already been recorded at Wilsons Promontory.
The mercury is not expected to reach any higher than 15C in Melbourne this week.
