Springvale Road wins Melbourne’s ‘most dangerous’ for fourth year running
Springvale Road at Glen Waverley has been given the unenviable title of Melbourne’s most dangerous road for the fourth year running.
An analysis of accident claims by insurance giant AAMI also condemned the same road further south at Springvale, along with Pentry Road at Bundoora and the Princes Highway in Dandenong.
The study also showed the drop to 60km/h along Bell St at Preston had done little to reduce crashes.
Michael Mills from AAMI said driver behaviour needed to change.
‘Drivers should always ensure they leave enough room between them and the car in front of them,’ he said.
‘Avoid distracting activities like mobile phone use and, of course, keep to the speed limit.’
