St Kilda chief executive Matt Finnis says Nat Fyfe rumour ‘went too far’

Sportsday

?

St Kilda’s chief executive has given the Perth DJ who said Fremantle star Nat Fyfe had ‘virtually accepted’ a deal with the Saints a clip on 3AW Football.

Matt Finnis said he’d gone too far.

While the Saints boss said the rumour mill was always running hot in footy, the claim a St Kilda board member had ‘leaked’ the news was unacceptable.

‘When you go with something like that, you’re making an imputation against nine people who are pretty impressive people,’ Finnis said on 3AW.

‘I think quite rightly they’d feel aggrieved by that.

‘I was certainly aggrieved on behalf of the board in relation to that.’

But Matthew Lloyd got straight to the point.

‘Have you spoken to Nathan Fyfe’s manager,’ Lloyd asked.

‘You know how it works,’ Finnis responded.
