St Kilda coach Alan Richardson hails Riewoldt ahead of 300th game

St Kilda coach Alan Richardson has paid tribute to the club’s leader Nick Riewoldt ahead of his 300th game.

Richardson told Sports Today it was an easy choice to retain the veteran as captain.

‘It would have been artificial to have it any other way,’ he said.

‘He’s been really committed, he’s been a really strong leader.’

Richardson also said not knowing the names of players with positive tests for illicit drugs is frustrating.

‘I want to know if I can help them.’
