St Kilda firming in the race for Jake Carlisle, says Sam ‘Scoop’ McClure

St Kilda is firming as favourite to land Essendon utility Jake Carlisle, says Sam McClure.

The Bombers’ big man has requested a change of scenery this summer, with the Saints and Carlton seen as the most likely suitors.

Scoop said St Kilda was now the frontrunner, unless Carlton made a ‘massive’ offer.

‘I would be backing Jake Carlisle to end up in a St Kilda guernsey next year,’ he said on Sports Today.

Greater Western Sydney, meanwhile, has revealed it will grant Curtly Hampton permission to explore trade opportunities.

‘Adelaide is the early frontrunner,’ McClure said.

Scoop also revealed ‘at least’ five Victorian clubs had expressed early interest in Harley Bennell.

‘How many come up with a serious offer is another question,’ he said.
