St Kilda’s notorious Gatwick Hotel to shut its doors
St Kilda’s notorious Gatwick Hotel will be shutting its doors in the coming months.
Residents of the hotel were told this morning of its impending closure with sale discussions well underway.
Operating since the 1950s, the hotel has been the scene of multiple murders, rapes and serious assaults.
The state government said the hotel is not suitable for its residents with alternate accommodation being sought for those doing it tough.
The government wouldn’t be drawn on a possible buyer or what will be done with the site.
