The merry-go-round surrounding the taxing of compensation payments being given to Victorians taxi and hire car drivers has come full circle.

After Pete told Tom Elliott on Monday that his $25,000 cheque was going to be taxed at roughly 20 per cent, 3AW went looking for answers.

The Andrews Government has since revealed it has written to federal treasurer Scott Morrison, asking him not to tax the payments.

Scott Morrison’s office advised Jacinta Allan’s office in June, 3AW Drive later confirmed.
