State government to consult local communities on water policy
The state government has invited community feedback on the future of water.
The government released the state’s draft water plan on Wednesday, but won’t make critical decisions about water supplies without consulting local communities.
Tom Elliott isn’t sure why the government has come looking for consultation on water policy two weeks after ordering water from the desalination plant.
But Water Minister Lisa Neville said the government is looking further ahead.
‘The conversation about desal happened last time during the drought,’ Ms Neville said.
‘This is now about how do we build on that foundation.’
