Stoccos manhunt a marketing win for Landcruiser

Any publicity is good publicity, so goes a common marketing mantra.

But Ross and John wanted to know what Toyota might think about the huge manhunt for the Stoccos?

Throughout the search for the father-son fugitives, police continually reminded the public to be on the lookout for a white Toyota Landcruiser. 

According to Barry Urquhart, Managing Director of Marketing Focus, ‘this would be money for jam’. 

‘In marketing, it’s share of mind equals share of market,’ he said. 

Mr Urquhart said the pair’s ability to run from police on back roads in Victoria and New South Wales was an ‘implied endorsement’ of the vehicle.

The search for the Stoccos came to a tragic end after they were caught on Wednesday, and a body was discovered on the property they were hiding out in. The pair have been charged with murder.
