A Melbourne man who had his boat was stolen earlier this year says he is desperate to track it down because it had his friend’s ashes on board.

As reported on the Rumour File, thieves nicked the boat from the front yard of a Carrum Downs house on January 17.

Chris Beggs told John and Kate the ashes of his childhood friend were on board.

‘It was my little memorial to him,’ he said on 3AW Breakfast.

The boat is 4.2 metres long and had the registration plate QN318 on its front.
