A man has been arrested after an allegedly stolen car crashed in Bayswater North this morning.

Press PLAY to hear the latest from police

Police officers on patrol saw sparking from a light pole at the intersection of Canterbury Road and Canterbury Court at 2:40am.

Police then found a Holden Utility had crashed into the pole with the driver fleeing the scene.

A 30-year-old Mulgrave man was later arrested by police, after locating him in a nearby backyard.

The car was allegedly stolen from Airport West on September 16, with the investigation remaining ongoing.
