Stoneman struck in the head off Hazelwood bouncer
Mark Stoneman has copped a nasty blow to the side of his head, thanks to a bouncer by Josh Hazelwood.
On 52 runs, Stoneman ducked into a Hazelwood ball, shattering the guard at the back of his helmet.
Bruce Eva says every time he has seen a player hit recently, the helmets haven’t held up.
“The last three or four times I have seen a batsman struck in the helmet, wearing the new guards, they have flown off.”
Ian Chappell says players shouldn’t be told what helmets they have to wear.
