Stonnington Council has refuted suggestions Chapel street is losing its appeal.

However, there are plans in the works to give the area something of a facelift.

Councillor Matthew Koce told Justin and Kate they are working on making the area more pedestrian-friendly, as well adding some public murals.

‘There’s constant change in Chapel street. That’s one of the great things about it,’ Cr Koce said.

‘We are investing. We’re going to replace all the footpaths along Chapel street, which is a major project.’

Cr Koce said similar investment in Greville street had already reaped rewards.
