The controversial Melbourne street artist Lushsux woke up this morning to find his Instagram account deleted.

He suspects the social media giant is trying to censor him.

‘Its hard enough to be an artist as it is,’ Lushsux told 3AW Breakfast.

The Lushsux Instagram account had over 100 000 followers, a number he hopes to replicate on his new account, @Lushsux2.

It’s not the first time the artist has courted controversy, he is responsible for several prominent artworks around the city including of Kim Kardashian and Taylor Swift.

His painting of Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton raised eyebrows on 3AW’s Rumour File earlier this week.

‘When it comes to taking the piss out of conservatives, it doesn’t seem to matter on these social media sites. The bias is clear.’
