Strewth! Aussie slang is getting added to the dictionary

TOM ELLIOTT

Aussie slang is being added to the dictionary.

The Oxford English Dictionary is looking to add words and expressions which are distinctive to Australia.

Amanda Laugesen, editor of the Australian Concise Oxford English Dictionary, told Tom Elliott it’s important to document the differences between the varieties of English.

“I think there words tell us something about our society, how it’s changing, our history, and where we’re going,” Ms Laugesen said.

Tom said he loves eating a “dog’s eye with dead horse” at the footy.
