Struggling pensioner left without money as banks close for Grand Final public holiday

A struggling pensioner says he won’t be able to access his pension because of the Grand Final eve public holiday.

Mark Prido told 3AW Drive host Tom Elliott he would have no money and no food for the long weekend.

‘I’ve got to go four days without money,’ he said.

‘I can’t get money out of the bank until Monday.’

Mr Prido, who can only access his pension after it comes in to his account on a Thursday night, says he has to go into the bank on Fridays to get it.

‘What am I meant to do?’
