‘Suspicious’ fire breaks out at abandoned building in Melbourne’s north-east

Firefighters have contained a suspicious fire on Johnstone Street in Abbotsford this afternoon.

A Fire Rescue Victoria spokesperson told 3AW Afternoons they found a single-storey double-brick building on fire with no one inside.

Age reporter Alex Darling says the fire started around 12:30 this afternoon.

“We don’t really know the damage at this stage,” he said.
