Suspicious garage fire at Ringwood

Two dozen firefighters were needed to control a suspicious garage fire at Ringwood on Wednesday.

Crews were called to the Nelson Street property just after 10am following reports of large flames.

The fire briefly threatened nearby units, with one resident evacuated.

The MFB said the garage contained two trailers that were heavily laden with timber, making extinguishing the fire difficult.

Victoria Police is investigating.
