The Federal Government wants a million Australian smokers to quit this year.

It’s announced a push to get the national smoking rate below 10 per cent by 2018.

That rate currently sits at about 14 per cent.

‘We have one of the lowest rates in the western world, but I want us to have the lowest,’ federal health minister Sussan Ley explained on 3AW Mornings.
