Swan St liquor store “under siege” as revellers turn to looting

Witnesses say Richmond revellers turned to looting on Saturday night, raiding a Swan Street liquor store.

Appearing on The Rumour File, 3AW Breakfast were told police had to be called to the BWS store on Swan St after Tigers supporters began helping themselves to stock.

Listener Nick emailed and said the BWS was “under siege”.

“I queued up for a couple of beers, when I went in there were people just marching out with their arms laden with beers,” Nick said.

“By the time I left the store police were manning the door.”
