Sydney’s lord mayor pushes for change to NSW train rules for pets
Sydney’s lord mayor, Clover Moore, is campaigning for pets to be allowed on train services to ensure people with pets don’t feel like “second-class citizens”.
Owner of Mont Albert Vet, Dr Nicole Rous, says pets are a part of our communities and people should learn how to be around them.
“Educating the pet owners to make sure that they are not putting their pets in a position that will be a threat to the public,” she told Tony Moclair on 3AW Afternoons.

In Victoria, dogs can travel on trains as long as they’re on a lead and wearing a muzzle. Small animals can travel on trains, trams and buses in suitable animal containers.
