New research shows it’s a sign of intelligence to talk to your pets.

Psychologist Sabina Read seized on the fascinating study in her regular chat with Denis Walter on 3AW Afternoons, and it appears she’s not alone.

“The research tells is when we attribute human behaviour to an inanimate object or to an animal that’s a sign of our creativity or our connection as a human,” she said.
