Tasmanian grandmother Sue Carlyon has sensationally been banned from her local church.

She has been branded a ‘heretic’ by the Anglican Bishop after a disagreement in interpretation of a religious scripture.

Speaking with Tom Elliott, Mrs Carlyon says she was “staggered” to be told she was no longer welcome to attend her local church.

“I just find it ridiculous in this day and age,” she told 3AW Drive.

In response, Bishop of Tasmania Revd Dr Richard Condie said her views were contradictory to “Christian orthodoxy as expressed in every mainline denomination throughout the world“.
