A taxi driver who was allegedly robbed by a man and woman at knifepoint overnight has caught up with the pair and knocked them off their getaway scooter.

Nine News reporter Mark Santomartino told Ross and John when the taxi arrived at an address in Dandenong South the pair approached either side of the car.

“The man was on the driver’s side door, he produced a knife and the woman was on the passenger side door they demanded cash and stole his phone,” Mark said.

“They tried to get away on a scooter.

“The taxi driver decided to follow them and a short time later about 3.30am on Hammonds Court he’s managed to knock them off the scooter.
