Taxi drivers declare ‘war’ against the government asking for better compensation
The transport minister is calling for calm as taxi drivers and owners ramp up their campaign for better compensation as the fall out continues over the legalising of Uber.
They’re vowing to go to ‘war’ against the shake-up, threatening to shut down the Grand Final weekend and blockade city streets.
Today they plan to rally outside the Premier Daniel Andrews Mulgrave office.
Jacinta Allan says the only way to resolve the issue is by talking.
‘Any disruption that interrupts peoples movements around the city will not be welcome in this period of time.’ – Minister Allan told 3AW.
