Taylor Swift fans have been caught up in air traffic chaos as interstate and overseas travelers flock to Melbourne for this weekend’s much-anticipated trio of MCG concerts, which begin on Friday night.

3AW’s Jacqui Felgate reports a shortage of air traffic controllers is leading to delays out of Brisbane Airport as Swifties make their way down south.

“We’ve been told there are major issues at Brisbane Airport due to a shortage of air traffic controllers,” Jacqui said on 3AW Drive.

At Sunshine Coast airport, Bonza was able to organise a replacement flight at short notice to ensure those on one cancelled Jetstar flight from Sunshine Coast were able to make it to Melbourne in time for the first concert.

“The team rallied around very quickly…they were likely to miss the concert (if we didn’t organise the extra fight),” Bonza CEO and founder Tim Jordan told Jacqui Felgate.
