Teenage boy blames impact of Bourke Street tragedy for alleged crime spree

A teenage boy has blamed the Bourke Street massacre for an alleged crime spree.

The teen is accused of bashing and robbing people the day after the incident which claimed six lives.

The 17-year-old said he and his family were in the CBD when the traumatic incident unfolded.

But he’s been described as ‘repeat offender’, who had previously been chained to his bed at night by his parents to stop him leaving the house.
