Teenage boy dies after car slams into power pole at Mount Mercer

A teenager is dead after a crash at Mount Mercer.

His car struck a power pole.

A technician made the sad discovery after he was called to respond to a power outage shortly after 2.30am on Tuesday.

The teenage driver was the sole occupant of the car and died at the scene.

His death takes this year’s road toll to 37.

It was 62 at the same time last year.
