Teenage boy dies at Geelong in possible case of ‘huffing’

A teenage boy has died after reportedly inhaling deodorant in search of a high.
Known as ‘huffing’, it’s suspected as a possible cause of the death of a 14-year-old in the Geelong suburb of Norlane on Friday night.
Speaking with the Geelong Advertiser, Sergeant Dan Willsmore has described the incident as horrendous.
An inquest will need to be held to formally determine the cause of death.
The boy’s parents are devastated and his friends traumatised.
Sergeant Willsmore said huffing wasn’t common in the region and this is the first suspected case he’s seen in his 17-year career.
