A 13-year-old boy has this morning become the fifth person killed in five days on the state’s roads.

Police believe he was hit by a car while riding his skateboard to school in Brookfield at around 8.15am on Tuesday.

Assistant Commissioner Doug Fryer says it’s been a horror run on the roads since Friday.

‘This was one of five lives lost on our roads since Friday.

‘We lost the young mum in Yarraville on her pushbike and we’ve lost a number of others in the country as well,’ Doug Fryer told Neil Mitchell.
