Teenage girl allegedly takes mum’s car for a spin, leads police on chase

A teenage girl has been charged after she allegedly led police on a pursuit in her mum’s car.

3AW Breakfast was alerted to the incident by Darren on Thursday morning.

He said police had monitored the vehicle through Croydon, Ringwood, Cranbourne and Berwick, before finally intercepting the badly damaged car at Pakenham.

‘I was talking to the police and they said she got the keys from the bench,’ Darren explained.

A 15-year-old girl has since been arrested and charged over the alleged incident.

She was bailed and will face a children’s court at a later date.

She’s facing a number of charges, including reckless conduct endangering life.
