Teenage girl dies after being hit by truck in Ringwood

The teenage girl who was hit by a truck in Ringwood this morning has died in hospital.

Police believe the 14-year-old was walking across Whitehorse Road just after 7am when she was struck by a truck travelling south on Dampier Grove.

The girl was transported from the scene but later died in hospital.

It’s understood the truck was turning left onto the Maroondah Highway at the time of the incident.

The truck did not stop after the incident but a 39-year-old man has since contacted police.

The NSW man is currently assisting police.
