Teenage girl fighting for life after falling from car roof at Altona

A teenage girl is fighting for life after falling from the roof of a car in Altona during a rugby celebration.

The 17-year-old was on the roof of a Mini Cooper with three friends near The Esplanade when they all fell as the car swerved around 11.30pm last night.

The girl is believed to have hit her head when she has fallen and is in a critical condition in hospital.

The group was celebrating the Samoan rugby team winning at the World Cup.

Another teenager has also presented at hospital with injuries sustained in the incident.

Police are searching for the male driver of the vehicle.
