Teenage girl takes herself to hospital with stab wounds

A 17-year-old girl has been stabbed several times overnight, but managed to take herself to a hospital west of Melbourne.

It’s believed the girl presented with stab wounds to her chest and back at Bacchus Marsh hospital just before midnight.

Police still do not know how she suffered her injuries.

She was transferred to the Royal Melbourne hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
