Teenage girls getting Botox injections as “preventative method” from ever getting wrinkles
An alarming trend is rising out of social media, which sees girls as young as 17 begin receiving Botox injections as a “preventative method” from ever getting wrinkles in the first place.
Dermatologist at Central Sydney Dermatology and past president of the Australasian College of Dermatologists Professor Stephen Shumack told Tom Elliott there’s no point using Botox until you actually have wrinkles.
“We dermatologists would say there’s no point in doing that, none at all,” Professor Shumack said.
“It’s a fad that’s going around at the moment, a manufactured marketing concept.
“It’s all out there on social media.
“It certainly works to settle wrinkles further on in life.”
