Teenage lifeguard brutally bashed by thugs at aquatic centre in Melbourne’s south-east

A teenage lifeguard has been brutally bashed while on duty at Casey Aquatic and Recreation Centre in Narre Warren.
“We can’t believe it,” 3AW Breakfast host Ross Stevenson said.

The 19-year-old lifeguard was reportedly headbutted, punched and kicked after warning youths about doing dangerous stunts in the pool.
He was then taken to Dandenong Hospital with cuts and bruises to his upper body, and has since been discharged.
Royal Life Saving General Manager, RJ Houston, then shed light on the concerning level of abuse of lifeguards in the last year nationwide.
“Unfortunately we hear this quite often,” Mr Houston said on 3AW Breakfast.
“It’s a really unfortunate, disgusting and really unacceptable issue.”
