Teenage umpire attacked by man drinking at junior cricket match
A teenage boy has allegedly been assaulted while umpiring a junior cricket match.
The Rumour File was told the boy, 15, was attacked after telling several people who were drinking in the clubrooms that it wasn’t allowed during junior games.
It’s claimed he was headbutted.
The victim was taken to hospital.
The alleged assailant, who was a spectator at the junior game, was then allowed to play in his senior game the following day.
Police have confirmed they’re investigating after being called to a sporting reserve on Phoenix Street, Sunshine North, on Friday night.
A number of people were spoken to at the scene.
