Police are investigating whether a carjacking in Rosebud overnight is linked to the robbery of a couple in a car park a short time later.

The victims of the carjacking — aged 17 and 18 — were run off Waterfall Gully Road by a four-wheel-drive about 12.15am.

They fled on foot in fear as the thugs stole their Holden sedan, which also contained phones and power tools.

It was later found burnt out on Trumans Road.

The incident was first reported by Neil Mitchell on 3AW Mornings this morning, amid another night of aggravated crime.

“There were no weapons, just threats,” police told Neil Mitchell.
