Say goodbye to the Telstra 2G mobile network. In just six-weeks they will be shutting it down.

Those with older phones running on the 2G network are advised to update their device to one that is supported by the 3G network.

Tom Elliott spoke with the General Area Manager for Telstra, Steve Tinker who confirms the shutdown.
‘Back in July 2014 we announced that we were going to shutdown our 2G network by the end of 2016 and we’re still planning to do that.’
‘The 2G Network is older technology, it was implemented more than 20-years ago.’ – Mr Tinker told 3AW Drive.
