Tom Elliott, along with several other Telstra customers, have received worrying emails, warning their services could be disconnected if they don’t move to a new system.

Telstra executive Chris Roland has confirmed the emails are real and revealed more than eight million customers have already moved to the new system.

“The reason we’re doing this is absolutely to improve the experience for all our customers,” he said.

3AW caller Sharn who received the email, and made the switch to the new system, has revealed she now needs to rewire her property.

“I was originally fibre to the curb, and when they switched it back on, it goes automatically to fibre to the property, but unfortunately at home my wiring is not set up for fibre to the property,” she said.
