One of Melbourne’s best sports presenters is hanging up the autocue after almost 20 years in TV, with tonight his final bulletin at Channel Ten.

Friend of 3AW Breakfast, Brad McEwan, told Ross and John he’s ready to move on.

“I’m just ready to do other things,” Brad said.

“I still love storytelling, but I just want to head off, perhaps into the corporate world and use those skills that I’ve got and keep meeting people and keep travelling the world.

“I’ve been really lucky.”

He said one of his favourite memories in the job was covering major international events, sporting or otherwise.

“In Africa I found myself standing next to Nelson Mandela.

“I didn’t say anything, I didn’t know what to say.

“Just to be in his company was something you never forget.”
