The Age investigative journalist, Richard Baker, one of the journalists behind the Phoebe’s Fall podcast, has just released the first episode in a new true crime series called ‘Wrong Skin’.

Wrong Skin is about a relationship banned under traditional law, 22-years-ago in the far north west of Australia.

Richard told Ross and John the podcast tells “essentially a bit of a tragic love story”.

“The young girl was promised to an elder three times her age,” he said.

“And also under the complicated skin and kinship rules of that area, the young couple were skin types that they weren’t able to be together.

“They vanished from that community and some rumours went around about where they might be, but that all changed when her body was found 11 months later.

“And the young fella has never been seen since.”
