The alarming number of Australian teens suffering ‘psychological distress’ about climate change
New research has found 10 per cent of Australians aged between 15 and 19 suffer “psychological distress” due to climate change.
The same study, conducted by Mission Australia and Orygen and the University of Melbourne, found 25 per cent of teens were “very or extremely concerned” about the issue.
Marion Bennett, Mission Australia’s Executive of Practice, Evidence and Impact, told 3AW Drive it was up to older generations to take their concerns “seriously” and talk openly about the issue.
