The ‘alarming’ number of students failing to meet national standards in English and Maths

The latest NAPLAN results have revealed nearly one in three students in the country are failing to meet national standards in English and Maths.

David de Carvalho from the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority, says the results are “alarming” but “it’s an important change to the way we’re reporting results”.
