A piece of audio from a sheriff in Florida talking about crime and violent protesters has caught Tom Elliott’s attention this morning.

Sheriff Wayne Ivey didn’t mince his words when talking about how they deal with crime and protesters, and the 3AW Mornings host hopes the same approach is implemented here in Victoria amid the crime crisis.

“In some parts of America, and in particular Florida which is a conservative state, the approach towards crime and protest is very different,” Elliott said.

“Why don’t we give this a go here? I’m dead serious about this.

“I for one am sick of the weekly protests, and I’m sick of criminals getting off.

“I would like to give a different method of policing a go.”
