The argument for introducing rapid COVID-19 tests in Australia

The time has come for the federal government to roll-out free rapid COVID-19 antigen tests, according to business leaders.

Andrew McKellar, CEO of the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, told 3AW they should be immediately used in essential workplaces with the hope of having an effective system up and running by the time the country hit its vaccination targets.

“We need to get this out there as quickly as possible,” he said.

“We have to start making this happen now.”
