The big ‘challenge’ facing Australia when it comes to recycling
It’s been revealed hundreds of millions of plastic bags have been sent to landfill following the collapse of Australia’s largest soft-plastics recycling scheme last year, raising questions about what is “really” being done to recycle soft plastics.
Gayle Sloan, CEO of the Waste Management and Resource Recovery Association of Australia, said there was a key challenge.
“People do not value secondary raw material, or buying goods made of Australian recycled content,” she said.
