RUMOUR CONFIRMED

A new hospitality venue built in an iconic Footscray building didn’t open as planned on Wednesday night as a result of a bizarre council problem.

Moon Dog Wild West was expected to open its doors in the old Franco Cozzo building earlier this week, but their plans have been thwarted by permit issues with a fire hydrant outside the venue.

“We had a very very rough night,” Moon Dog’s Karl van Buuren told 3AW Breakfast.

“I had to stand at the door and tell people (turning up for the opening) that the rug was pulled from us right at the last minute.”
