The bug behind The Park Melbourne gastro outbreak not yet known

Health experts do not know what bug has caused the gastro outbreak at The Park Melbourne where 140 people across two different events have become unwell.

Victorian chair of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, Dr Anita Munoz, says gastro bugs can vary and they won’t know until the lab finishes their work.

“We get a good idea about what bugs can cause gastro based on the time between eating the contaminated food and getting the symptoms and the types of symptoms,” she told Tony Jones, filling in for Neil Mitchell.
